TRAINING Health Care Workers to support implementation in Mozambique

eH4CTB HCWs Training July 2026 2

Over the past weeks, Health Care Workers (HCWs) from the 3 project districts in Mozambique — Manjacaze, Xai-Xai and Bilene — have taken part in a series of five-day training sessions.
The trainings introduced participants to the project, the use of the WHO treatment-decision algorithms (TDAs) for childhood tuberculosis, and the project’s electronic medical record (EMR).

Training sessions were held:
• in Manjacaze, from 22 to 26 June
• in Xai-Xai, from 29 June to 3 July
• in Bilene, from 20 to 24 July

Each training was followed by a week of on-site implementation support, with visits to all participating health facilities. These visits provided an opportunity to support health care workers as they started using the new tools, gather their first feedback, and review the planned workflows for implementation.

This combination of training and field-based support is an important step towards integrating the eHealth4ChildTB tools into routine care and supporting health care workers in improving the diagnosis and management of childhood TB.
